Our Framework

Belonging, Being & Becoming

Sky Avenues International Kindergarten follows the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia: ¡®Belonging, Being, Becoming¡¯. This is the national Framework used by all kindergartens and early childhood education centres across Australia.

Australia is a modern, vibrant country with a globally recognized education system. It also boasts a diverse and multicultural population and this cultural variety closely resembles that here in Sky Avenues.

The Framework has been specifically designed to ensure that all children in an early education setting experience quality teaching and learning in a safe and secure environment. It has specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. The framework focuses on five Learning Outcomes to produce well-rounded, intelligent and confident learners who wish to know more about the world around them and understand different cultures.

The five Learning Outcomes are:
1.Children have a strong sense of identity
2.Children are connected with and contribute to their world
3.Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
4.Children are confident and involved learners
5.Children are effective communicators

The framework also emphasises the importance of being responsive to children within the classroom. Our teachers are all skilled at providing learning that is tailored to the individual ¨C they are flexible in providing some activities that are student-initiated. The Framework promotes challenging children¡¯s thinking, giving them opportunities to explore ideas, providing open-ended questioning and using guided learning.

Printed copies of the complete Framework are available to read at the school reception in both English and Chinese. If you would like to view these online, please click the link below.
